Hi Eddie,
I sat next to you today at the hair dressers in Peacehaven & I just wanted to say how much I admire what you've achieved & are continually striving for.
I didn't know anything about you to be honest other than the fact that you were a fantastic stunt rider & that you had an accident.
After meeting you, I did a little internet research & read about your stunt career, the films, stunt doubles etc then the horrific accident & following your amazing survival, all of the fantastic things that you achieved so far. Especially the London Marathon! That's absolutely amazing!!
Anyway, it was an honour to have been in your presence today & I just wanted to tell you my thoughts. It was also my 1 year old Son's first claim to fame! He tried to push your chair! lol!
I'll be following your future achievements with interest & much admiration.
Kind Regards
Kelly
PS: You've definitely still got your handsome looks! ;o)

Hi Eddie just like wish you all the best of luck with your recovery! I was just reminiscing about the time I
saw you at one of your shows in Feltham when I was about 15, you were brilliant, what a show, i then had the privilege of meeting you and getting your autograph! All the love Gary, Chichester. x

Good luck with your recovery Eddie. You can do it, you can do anything.
Please re-release the film 'Riding High', I read the book (Heavy Metal?) as a child but have never seen the film.
Is a film about your life being planned? If not, it should be!

Hi Eddie, I was having something to eat up at the Brighton Marina last week, and you came along and actually sat right next to me. What an honour. I have seen you on TV before ,and I said to you at the time that I had seen you on TV when you did the Brighton Marathon last year. Anyway, I just wanted to say I thin k you are amazing, I am undergoing Chemotherapy for Breast Cancer at the moment, and it has been one of the hardest things that I have had to deal with in my lifetime, but when I look at you and see that georgeous smile, I realise what an inspiration you are. You're an amazing bloke Eddie, keep up the fighting spirit, and I wish you happiness and good health for the future, it was great to sit next to such an icon, it made my day.

It still pains me to say but you're still a good looking git. I always remember (back in the 80's) chatting-up a bird in a club when i was in my twenties; giving it large, smooth talker trying to lay the foundations for a shag but no. The girl in question, after listening to my patter said; "your a really nice guy but I was looking for someone a bit like Eddie Kidd". Needless to say I arranged a date with Pam instead! Eddie, you're a top bloke, a scholar and part of our proud British culture and that's why we're the best in the world - cus of blokes like you. stay strong.

Hi Eddie,
Just thought I'd drop you a line to say congratulations on being chosen as one of the Olympic torchbearers! Fantastic news, and well and truly deserved! I met you a few years ago at the BMF show in Peterborough, which was a pleasure and an honour.
You truly are an inspiration to so many people in so many different ways, and I wish you the very best with the torchbearing and all your future ambitions-you deserve success in everything!

Hey, Mr Eddie Kidd The Black Knight,
Heard you are going for the London to Brighton bike ride for your 'next mission' & think it's brilliant. That's the spirit - everyone is talking about this - there is a real buzz going around the country about you & I think this following expression is all about your strength of character:
"it's not the dog that's in the fight....it's the fight that's in the dog."
You have such a MASSIVE heart Eddie & no-one has forgotten how AMAZING it was when you beat Robbie Knievel for the World Championship Belt & brought it back to England along with gaining many American & World wide fans too.
England Loves Ya so much
Stay safe, take care & be lucky

Dear Eddie Kidd, The Black Knight
Trust me, help is on the way to you in the spring because you are an English hero who all of us still addore & look up to. The reason for this is because of your heart & the way you are fighting for what is right by helping others with your charity work. Please don't be offended Eddie but I would not be able to sleep at night if I didn't do something to help my hero. It was because of you I got on a motorbike as a child in the first place & I myself had a head injury that nearly killed me too. As an adult I got back on a bike only because Chesca Miles the stunt rider inspired me to do so. WE ALL LOVE YA MATE!!!!!! Finally BELIEVE you will walk AGAIN because you are already defying the odds & try to slowly sing along to your favourite songs - YOU WILL COME BACK!!!!!!!!!

Hi Eddie,
Just wanted to share with you that my little 3yr old boy was playing with his toy motorcycle at the breakfast table this morning and him and his big sister (aged 7yrs) were debating whether a real motorcycle could fly to space. We started talking about some of the amazing jumps you and Evel did on bikes and I got the computer out to find some footage. We've just spent an hour watching videos and my little guy phoned his Daddy at work to tell him about it. He was just as impressed with you standing as you wheelied as the jumps! I wish you could have heard his "wow"s and "ahh"s and seen his little eyes bugging out of his head. My hubby and I are originally from England, but we live just outside Vancouver, BC now. Thought I'd share with you how you are still picking up international fans! I have no doubt that my two will be telling all their friends about Eddie Kidd for a while!
Thanks for your inspiration...and thanks for entertaining us on a rainy summer day! :-)

Hi Eddie, thank you for coming along to the Seaford Marathon. You are a real inspiration, i thought about throwing in the towel several times along the route, but the fact that you kept going when you did the London Marathon for 43 days and how hard that must have been for you kept me going. If i ever do another marathon i'll raise some money for your trust. Keep up the good work and see you at the start again next year?

hi eddie. it was a great honour for me to meet you,and shake you by the hand through the window of your car last week in bath. i was the aa man outside marks and spencers who noticed that your driver looked a little lost. i had rode my suzuki 1200 gsf bandit into bath that day. i always admired your fantstic stunts over the years, and never thought that i would meet you. i have learnt a lot about you since i went on your website, and i would not have known it was you in the car if it had not been for the website sticker on the car. i wish you well for the future, and i have shown your videos to my two boys who were too young to remember you. good luck you are a great inspiration.

I've just seen a report about you finishing the marathon and wanted to say what an inspiration you are. I had spinal damage seven years ago and was left with neurological damage and mobility issues, not to your extent of course but still difficult to deal with. I came here to find out more about your problems and am left with amazing respect for youand your drive. Never again will I feel sorry for myself when i'm having bad days. Your constant smile and fighting spirit make me face my problems with much more determination than ever before For this, and many other reasons, I just wanted to say THANKYOU xXx

When I was little I remember seeing pin ups of the boy wonder that was Kidd. As a little girl, I remember not liking the hairy chest! When I was 16 however, Kidd had the good grace to appear in the 501 advert. My me! Is that the biker from when I was little? Suddenly hairy chests weren't so bad!
Why I saw you on the telly completing the marathon I was shocked because I didn't know that you had been so injured. Still cute, still Eddie, but shocked nevertheless. After seeing this and having done my homework, what I saw was akin to a beautiful eagle having its wings clipped. Eddie's body and his bike were at one. Brave, gutsy and determined - fearless.
You clearly still have the fire in your heart. What you are doing now is taking more guts and strength of character than any biker (or anyone else for that matter) would dare to know. You still have the fire Eddie, and no one can take that away. Big love and big respect. xx

It has all been said, but, wow, you are a truly amazing man. Keep up the good work,

Dear Mr Eddie Kidd The Black Knight,
You are a true legend. How wonderful the video footage is of you back on a bike. I read an article in the sun newspaper about you having to sell some of your possessions & me and my friends are going to do some fundraising days for The Black Knight to make sure you don't have to go in to any care home & we will try to raise enough so you can get your possessions back. I'll be in touch Mr Kidd, all the very best for now. Keep strong, medical science is progressing rapidly & you never know what break through is around the corner.

I have sent a personal email setting out two very promising treatments for aphasia ( speech difficulties caused by stroke or other brain injuries). They are additional to conventional speech therapy. One is a drug treatment trialled for chronic conditions i.e. 2 years or more, and the other transcranial magnetic stimulation. My wife has a similar condition following a stroke and will be starting the drug treatment shortly. Neither of these treatments will be offered unless you contact the appropriate neurologists and speech therapists who have been involved in trials and research. I have done this and have all the necessary details. I don't want to raise your hopes unnecessarily and I do stress that these treatments are still in a sense experimental but from the trials have been found to improve speech in some cases substantially in a percentage of recipients.
My wife and I will be at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London next week where I shall be having further meetings with the doctors trialling them. After that feel free to email me.

Hello Eddie
Congratulations on completing the London marathon what a fantastic achievement. Its really nice to read all the kind comments from everyone of your fans, you touch all our hearts with you desire to win and never give up attitude, you are truly a remarkable man, we are all very proud of what you have accomplished and i'm sure we've all shed a tear for you.
You are a true role model to youngsters of today, I'm sure we all agree with the man on twitter that you deserve a knighthood for the courageous things you have done past and present. I look forward to telling my children when they are old enough to understand about your career and maybe oneday my grandchildren, one good reason for the internet to show our youngsters your great stunt videos and the london marathon, Its upsetting to know that you have had to sell your motorbikes, I'd like to think they've gone on display in a museum where they will be treasured and displayed for your fans.
I hope somebody holds a marathon in return to raise money for your speech therapy in the near future, i've never run a marathon before but if i ever have the opportunity to take part in such an event i'd be there like a shot as i'm sure lots of fans would.
hope your are taking some well deserved rest and settling into your new home, best wishes to you and your wife take care
I'm going to read all these great comments to a real life legend now, may take awhile but i'll read as many as i can :)

Great to see you on This Morning Eddie. Was wondering where Phil was. Got info on you from him, that is why I have recently got in touch with you. Always wondered how you were after your accident. Once seen an interview in a mag of you and your wife etc. Seen you back in your stunt days and met you back then. Congratulations on your achievement in doing the London Marathon. Don,t look sad, I realised you were wanting to thank your supporters, which your friend forgot to mention. A few things we know you would have wanted mentioned, wasn,t . We realised she did not know what you wanted to say. But your fans from when you were ok knew what you would have wanted mentioned Eddie. So please don,t fret about that. OK. xxx

Hi Eddie,
Watched you on this morning too, I don't cry very often, but you moved me to tears. Well done on all you have achieved. My son was into dirt bikes and bought dvds of you and your stunts, bikes were his passion. However at 16 he was punched in the head, one punch which put him in a coma for 3 months. He is 2 years on now, having a bit of a hard time one because his is a teenager!, two coming to terms with what happened. What a brilliant role model Eddie Kidd, I can't wait to show him what you have been up to. Good luck for all your goals. Lisa x

Hi Eddie, I just watched you on 'This Morning'...wow you are indeed an inspiration. I was online with my younger cousin( aged 27)last night.A few years ago he was paralysed by a hit and run driver, whilst on his motor bike. The driver was never caught. He is a great guy and through his positive mind and determination was told he would never move from neck down, but is now able to take tiny steps and has a great wheelchair which gets him around. He was in a bit of a downer last night, and now I've watched you today Im going to send your interview for him to watch. You are absolutely 'Gorg' and your marathon puts a lot of us who dont use our legs enough to shame!!. Good luck with your speech therapy and lots of love from Bonnie Scotland...lulu x

Hello Eddie,
Just been telling my children how talented you were in your heyday. We looked at some you tubes and they were very impressed. Sooooo good looking too!.
Toni XX
Great to see what you have achieved in the last few years and I am very pleased about the Olympic Torch relay. Keep at it.
Hi Eddie,
I sat next to you today at the hair dressers in Peacehaven & I just wanted to say how much I admire what you've achieved & are continually striving for.

Hi Eddie
Just wanted to say how great .fantastic your are.
You are a star to us all.
Chris.

I'll be in touch soon!

Stevey

Hi Eddie,
Just wanted to share with you that my little 3yr old boy was playing with his toy motorcycle at the breakfast table this morning and him and his big sister (aged 7yrs) were debating whether a real motorcycle could fly to space.
Clare
Hi Eddie, thank you for coming along to the Seaford Marathon. You are a real inspiration, i thought about throwing in the towel several times along the route, but the fact that you kept going when you did the London Marathon for 43 days and how hard that must have been for you kept me going. If i ever do another marathon i'll raise some money for your trust. Keep up the good work and see you at the start again next year?
Hi Eddie. It was a great moment gettin' to meet you at the weekend at the Bulldog Bash. I was somewhat starstruck. Thank you for your time for the photographs an' I'm really enjoyin' your DVD. hi eddie. it was a great honour for me to meet you,and shake you by the hand through the window of your car last week in bath. i was the aa man outside marks and spencers who noticed that your driver looked a little lost. i had rode my suzuki 1200 gsf bandit into bath that day. i always admired your fantstic stunts over the years, and never thought that i would meet you. i have learnt a lot about you since i went on your website, and i would not have known it was you in the car if it had not been for the website sticker on the car. i wish you well for the future, and i have shown your videos to my two boys who were too young to remember you. good luck you are a great inspiration.
Hey Ed,i hope your well rested after the epic achievment of you and all you support team doing the Marathon.
I stopped and said hello a couple of times, once over surrey quay and another on the island,i think Joe deserves a personell mention too,ill never forget that voice of his.LOL.
Your a top MAN and ill keep following what your up to mate.
All the best.x
hy my name is kristina.. i have seen a short movie today of your life.. i wanna tell you that you are fascinating me!! your strong personality is unbelieveable.. the marathon, you passed, is very impressing!! you are amazing! move on and live your life :) :)
I miss your blogs! Come back and update soon! :-) xo
Big love and big respect. xx
EDDIE KID.
YOU ARE A TYRUE LEGEND AND A ICON TO MANY PEOPLE LV U LOADS ANDY BETTS
Eddie - You are a legend and an inspiration. What you did on a bike in your jump days was awesome and how you live your life now is no less an accomplishment (marathon man!). I can only imagine the drive and courage you have within you Eddie. I will be monitoring your 'event diary' and if I can get there to support you I will do.
I have a photograph of myself sat on your knee on your motorbike after doing a show i went to with my dad and its upsetting to see what has happened to a true legend and beleive me if i had the money i would give you as much money as i could to pay for wotever you needed and i would definately like to know when and were any charity events will be held because i would love to be there.

Congratulations on the megga amount of money that you raised doing your marathon.
It has all been said, but, wow, you are a truly amazing man. Keep up the good work,
You inspired so many young people to ride moto bikes in the past, and now, hopefully, you will give hope to everyone. I know that you can do anything, it might be hard work, but nothing is impossible for someone as determined as you. Take care x
Hello again, just had a reply from Chesca Miles who is going to help. She is planning a ride out from P & H Motorcycles in Crawley soon & has very kindly offered to help with the fundraising! What an amazing woman!
Keep strong, medical science is progressing rapidly & you never know what break through is around the corner.
hi your such a hero i was a big fan when i was youger and used to craze all my family and friends about you i even write to a fan club that said it was yours but my family and friends thought it funny when the letter came back saying no such fan club here i cryed like made .then when you came to great yarmouth i crazed my boyfriend to came with m e and watch you .we are now now married and have been for 30 years came next november 21 .it rained like mad that night but it was well worth watching .your such a big hero to a lot of poeple out there and to see you cross the line was such a heart stopper .hope your progress keeps happening and you get your dream of sitting on a bike again you so desive it after all your fighting all my love belinda xxgood luck

I watched as you finished your marathon , well done. You inspire people. keep up your positive vibe Eddie. Your a star. David /chelsea
Well Eddie what can i say, you are a true inspiration! i had your pictures on my bedroom wall and always watched your stunts on tv, you were my idol as a teenage girl and now as a forty something woman you are my hero!! its a crying shame you can't get funding for your speech therapy, i really hope your charity gets off the ground to help you, and now i am aware of it i will give what i can to your charity, you have certainly made me realise how lucky i am, take care and well done!!

The meaning of the word "Hero" is defined as "a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities"
That just about sums you up Eddie...it was an honour and a privilege to sponsor you. Well done you x
Hi Eddie and Sami, congratulations on completing the London Marathon your determination and spirit is unbelievable, you were my idol when I was young and I think you are absolutely brilliant, good luck for the future and I really hope you achieve your ambition to do the New York marathon, well done again.
just to say that you are my new hero, well actually you always were when you were jumping busses and more, but i have now rediscovered you :) well done for doing the marathon, you have given many o=people the incentive they need to push themselves just a little bit further, because it's worth it to achieve what you have and to raise money for others at the same time. well done and thank you for being such a great role model!
You are an amazing man, and an incredible couple! You make me feel quite humble and so ashamed for moaning about health problems. So handsome too, that smile makes me go weak at the knees! Wishing you health and happiness, and may you continue with giant steps, xxxx

OK. xxx
Hi Mr & Mrs Kidd.... What a truly remarkable couple you are.... Well done on everything you have accomplished... Talk about great team work... I hope you find a speech therapist to help you out... If not why not start your own charity to raise funds for this... I for sure would contribute and maybe do some fund raising myself.... Well done xxxx

Hi Eddie,
Watched you on this morning too, I don't cry very often, but you moved me to tears.

Your the best.xx
